Trapped in an ancient battle between a wicked Death God and the Seven Ghosts and guided by three mysterious priests, Teito discovers a power that could save the world... and shed light on his own mysterious past.
Registration was Offline, thanks Google (and Obama)

Edit - It seems the Google issues has been resolved and registrations should be working again. Also we're down to less than 5000 files left to reprocess for the viewer!
This year is starting out like crap. Mangatraders' registration system is
currentlywas previously inoperable. The problem is with Google and their reCAPTCHA system which is currently not working properly and thus not allowing the site to verify people's humanity. We're going to give Google the benefit of the doubt for a few more hours but if the issue is not fixed soon we'll find and implement an alternative captcha system. In the mean time if you REALLY want to register now and can't wait you can send an email to email@example.com with the subject "GOOGLE FAIL - MANUAL REGISTRATION REQUEST". Emails that do not have this exact subject will be ignored. Include the username you want, at least one alternate username, and your email address all on separate lines in the email. We will try to manually register as many people as we can and email them back with their initial password and link to activate their accounts.
Thanks for your patience.
Manga Traders Officially Drops cDisplay Support Requirement AND DL5 Offline

DL5 is back online!
Edited by Yukimura - 2014-01-18
The file transfer to the new hard drive is complete, and the file check has begun, it looks like it will only take a few more hours. I will bring dl5 back online once the file check is complete, thank you all for your patience.

We have a new 1TB hard drive installed in dl5 and we're currently copying the data on the old hard drive over. At last check there was over 300GB of data on dl5 so this may take awhile, and add to that the time it will take to do a check on every file on the the new server to make they're not corrupted and we're likely looking at another day or two before dl5 is back online and healthy.

A few things to clarify.
First, dl5 is going to be offline for a few days, its hard drive started dying and we've taken it offline preemptively for replacement. Our hope is that we aught it early enough that we can salvage most of its contents without having to do a full restoration from backups.
Second, this announcement should not be taken to mean that cDisplay will no longer be able to open files downloaded from Manga Traders, it is simply an official acknowledgement that in the relatively rare cases where files do not behave as expected when viewed with cDisplay we will make any effort to replace those files or accept duplicate uploads that attempt to do so, with no other valid reason for being uploaded. cDisplay will still display the vast majority of the files on the site properly, all we're saying here is that we will no longer require or enforce the expectation that all files on the site display properly in it. We are not saying we'll take steps to ensure files don't work in cDisplay, we're just saying we will not take extra steps to ensure that files do work with it.
Finally, it seems that one of my suggestions for replacing cDisplay has a bad reputation due to its installing adware along with itself if you aren't careful when you run the installer. It also seems that my words came out as a stronger endorsement for this product than I meant them to. I don't use any of the programs I listed as alternatives for image viewing, I can only recommended them by reputation which is apparently quite out of date. Let me be as clear as I can, Mangatraders does not have any officially preferred or supported image viewing programs. There are several pieces of software available for free that are capable of displaying images inside archives and each has its strengths, weaknesses, and foibles. You should do your own research and choose whatever program, if any, seems right for you, and of course, accept responsibility for whatever programs you choose to install on your computer. The only program officially endorsed by MangaTraders for use in conjunction with the site is 7-zip for reading both zip and rar files.
Hi all, first an update on the viewer reprocessing, it's proceeding along nicely we're a little over 60% complete and well into the oldest files on site.
As we started getting into the older files on the site we started running into some minor issues which forced us to take a look at some of our policies regarding uploads. From now on we are officially dropping the requirement and expectation that files uploaded to MT sort properly in the program cDisplay. If you've never heard of it cDisplay is a comic viewer program which can read a zip/rar archive and display any images inside in alphanumeric order. The particular program was written almost 10 years ago and is no longer updated as its developer died soon after releasing it.
While we're no longer going to worry about cDisplay related issues we are still committed to supporting comic viewer compatibility in principle. For those of you still using cDisplay we recommend you update to
cDisplayEX which was forked off of cDisplay and improves upon it and is still in development as an open source project another, more recently updated image viewer. Some possible options include MangaMeeya, ComicRack, cDisplayEx* or Honeyview on Windows, SimpleComic for Mac, and Comix for Linux, there are probably other options . Use of any of these programs is not required for reading manga downloaded from MT but for those of you who are less technically savvy they do offer a simpler alternative than having to use one program for extracting archives and another for viewing images.
* - Apparently the latest version of cDisplayEx will install adware on your computer if you don't take proactive steps to stop it. Mangatraders does not accept responsibility for your decisions regarding what you do or do not install on your computer, outside of officially recommended software like 7-zip for opening rar files. Beyond that we expect you to do your own research and make your own descisions about what you install on your computer.
Online Viewer Issues
Posted by Filter on 12/27/2013 11:05 pm
UPDATE 6 (2014-01-10) - We now have a little over 50% of the active files on the site ready for viewing. There were some hiccups over the last few days that slowed the pace a bit but things seem to be going strong now, it's still going to take a while to finish but hopefully no more than one more week. Please bear with is a little while longer.
UPDATE 5 (2014-01-03) - Not much to update but that the reparsing is going along at an even slower pace then I'd hoped. As of this update we're at 5,800 files parsed with 41,000 to go. At this rate it'll probably be closer to three weeks before everything is back as it should be.
UPDATE 4 - It looks like the entire hard drive the viewer files were on is kaput, we will have to redo everything from scratch. This may take up to a week and will make me a very irritable admin but I'll get it done. I will be redoing files from newest to oldest and new uploads will continue to be parsed upon upload as well.
UPDATE 3 - It looks like the hard drive is failing on the server that holds the files for the viewer. Some of the viewer's files have been corrupted and are unavailable while others are still available. We will be replacing the hard drive later today salvaging as much as we can from the old HD. For the files that are unrecoverable we'll have to reextract them from their original archives. That process may take several days to complete so please bear with us.
UPDATE 2 - The issue has returned. We'll provide updates once the issue is determined and resolved.
UPDATE 1 - The issue with the viewer should be resolved now, please let us know if you continue to experience any viewer issues in the next few days.
As the usual bearer of bad news, I thought I should let everyone know that one of our backend servers is currently experiencing some technical issues. This means that the reader is temporarily unavailable. We are working to get everything running as quickly as possible.
