Tekkoryu (Hau Dragon) - a secret Chinese-based organization bent on world domination. After the rise of their new leader, Yuratei, the Tekkoryu come out of hiding and unleash the Hakkeshu - a band of giant robots with lethal weaponry and equally skilled pilots. Before their quest for domination, the Hakkeshu must recover one of their own mecha - Zeorymer of the Heavens, stolen from them 15 years ago by a turncoat member along with the frozen embryo of a genetically engineered pilot. Caught in the crossfire is Masato Akitsu, a teenager captured by a Japanese organization and forced to pilot Zeorymer. Teamed with a mysterious girl named Miku Himuro, Masato must use Zeorymer to battle each of the Hakkeshu's mecha; at the same time, he must figure out why he was chosen to pilot the mecha and why he is able to adapt to it so easily.
The November issue (on sale on September 19) of Tokuma Shoten's Monthly Comic Ryu magazine will launch Hades Project Zeorymer Omega, the newest update of the Hades Project Zeorymer robot manga and anime from the 1980s. Comic Ryu already serialized a three-installment manga continuation called Hades Project Zeorymer Saishsh (The Final Chapter) last year. Morio Chimi (Bio-Booster Armor Guyver) created the original 1983-1984 manga and Saishsh, but he will be working with the artist Y Watari on the new Omega manga.
Director Toshihiro Hirano (Magic Knight Rayearth, Dangaioh, Iczer-One), scriptwriter Noboru Aikawa (Fullmetal Alchemist, Martian Successor Nadesico), and character designer Michitaka Kikuchi (Nadesico, Silent Mbius) created a four-volume Hades Project Zeorymer anime series from 1988 to 1990. Central Park Media released this anime in North America. The franchise's profile in Japan has risen in recent years with its inclusion in the popular Super Robot Wars role-playing game series. That has led to a definitive edition of the original manga (pictured at right) last year and a Blu-ray Disc edition of the anime next month.
