Summary :

For Hayao, a boy growing up on a small horse ranch, his greatest pride as well as best friend is a racehorse named Southern. When Southern gives birth to a foal, Sylphid, and dies in the process, Hayao must fight for his right to live. This is because Sylphid was born with tendonitis, a leg condition that would make it impossible for him to race, and thus useless in the owner's eyes. Will Hayao be able to protect Sylphid as he grows up, and perhaps even one day see him race?
