Summary :

Kagome Higurashi is your every day 15 year-old girl. That is, until she is grabbed by a giant demon and taken into the family well while chasing her cat. When the demon is driven off, and she comes to, she suddenly finds herself in the Sengoku period of Japan! After she accidently shatters a powerful item known as the "Shikon no Tama," it becomes her mission to put it back together. However, she's getting help from a bitter dog demon known as InuYasha, a perverted monk called Miroku, a demon slayer Sango, her pet Kirara, and a little fox demon called Shippo. Together, they must collect all the shards before evil forces do and save the world.

In 2002 Inuyasha won the Shogakukan Manga Award for best shōnen title of the year.
