After activating it, and naming it Chi, Hideki learns he must teach the clueless machine everything about every day life! However, there's more than meets the eye to Chi. Can Hideki protect his precious persocom from those who wish to use her... or even destroy her? And what exactly is a "Chobit"? Could it be that his persocom is "Chobits", the legendary persocom..? Can Hideki find all this out, and resist in falling in love with a machine?
