Summary :

Manji is a disillusioned swordsman, cursed with eternal life. Tired of not dying, he vows to Yaobikuni, an 800-year-old woman who gave him eternal life, to kill one thousand evil men, to be freed from the curse. Meanwhile, Rin, a 15-year-old girl whose family has been killed by the Itto-Ryu, has vowed to avenge her family. At Yaobikuni's suggestion to hire Manji as her bodyguard, she begs him to fight for her. But when Itto-Ryu's finest fighters beat him right and left, when he's kidnapped by the shogunate to be experimented on, will he really live up to his words of defeating one thousand evil men?

Scanlators for this series used raws from both the English Japanese versions of the printed volumes; however the chapter numbering in both printed version is off by two chapter numbers. The numbering in English version is ahead by two chapters. Mangatraders is using the chapter numbering from the English version for consistency.
